Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
The underlying causes of addiction are mostly genetic and environmental. A person’s genetic makeup can mike him or her more prone to sensation seeking behavior, more compulsive and more vulnerable to addiction. Life events such as trauma, stress and early exposure to substance abuse can also affect a person’s vulnerability.
Addiction causes physical and mental side effects. Physical side effects include cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Mental side effects include increased stress and feelings of depression, anxiety or loneliness.
Together, we will create a plan to help manage your physical cravings so you can focus on healing. Right Path providers will meet with you frequently to discuss your progress in treatment, answer questions related to your health, review your medications, and make changes as needed. Members of your treatment team will meet with you on an as-needed basis to address any additional medical needs.
